Job Summary

This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about performing arts, enjoy engaging with guests, and thrive in a dynamic environment. As a Character Performer, you will be responsible for entertaining audiences, educating young minds, and creating memorable experiences through interactive performances.

• Portray assigned characters in a lively and engaging manner during various events and performances.
• Interact with children and families, providing an immersive experience that fosters joy and excitement.
• Educate audiences about the character's background, stories, and values through public speaking and storytelling techniques.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless execution of performances and events.
• Maintain character integrity by adhering to costume guidelines and performance standards.
• Communicate effectively with both children and adults to enhance the overall experience during meet-and-greet sessions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Strong background in dance or theater is preferred; experience in performing arts is a plus.
• Excellent public speaking skills withthe ability to engage audiencesof all ages.
• Previous experience working with children is highly desirable; patience and enthusiasm are key traits.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively while embodying the character's personality.
• Willingness to learn new skillsrelated to performance techniquesand character portrayal.
• A positive attitude, creativity, and a passionfor entertaining others are essential for success in this role

Job Responsibilities

Job Duties & Functions

• Working in hot, confined, heavy costumes with limited range of vision and standing and walking for extended period of time
• Communicating nonverbally to guests
• Signing autographs and posing for photographs
• Interacting with guests outdoors and in dining establishments
• Due to costuming requirements, special consideration will be given to individuals 4' 8" - 5' and 6' - 6' 3"
• Partaking in our “Street Team” promoting the Queen Mary and outreach to the community
